Blossom time

Hello again,

We have been busy working and planting in the cottage garden and planting roses in the new bed in the rose garden the last few weekends.

We have enjoyed some beautiful sunny days with some very strong winds and earlier today while planting rudbeckia and echinacea in the cottage garden a fog rolled in from across the sea and brought with it a cool breeze so we decided to hop in the car and go for a drive round the corner into the countryside.

The hedgerows are lush and green and  little lambs were skipping here and there...

Always close to Mummy with such pretty little faces and the precious sound of bleeting...

Playing hide and seek and popping out to hear me whispering hello and peeking at Beatrix who was  under my arm....

Yellow rapeseed glowing under misty skies while periwinkle flowered and crept around gate posts....

Such a pretty lavender blue....

The perfume of rapeseed flowers wafted all around and blackbird, jenny wren and blue tits sang their pretty melody in the hedgerows....

Wild flowers are blooming.....

Forget me knot and red campion made the most beautiful sight...

Carpets of pretty blue and soft rose pink all along the lanes....

Near a pretty cottage an old cherry blossom was covered in pink blooms....i love these winding little lanes as you drive along...

Each little bloom is pretty in it's own right....

But when together they paint the prettiest picture.....

And when cherry blossom trees are planted in rows on either side of the lane they are just dreamy...

As the breeze gently passed through the trees  pink petals fell across the lane...wouldn't this be perfect for a Spring wedding picture?

Back home to Shingle Cottage and the rains that had been forecast arrived and our new roses were getting a good drink as the rain trickled down the window pane...

Snug inside with the fire crackling,a nice cup of tea and a buttered scone....

The fire is now glowing and there is a cozy warm glow around the room,i love to sit and watch the glowing ash drop through the grate while day dreaming...

About all the pink blossom  just around the corner and down the lane that i just might have to go visit again....

I hope you are well and looking forward to your weekend what ever you may be up to....

Will you join me next time for more tales and goings on from Shingle Cottage?
